1. Clean existing scum, filth and slummy environment of the temple area.

2. Rehabilitate existing street vendors and street stalls.

3. Rehabilitate stalls directly attached to the inside and outside of the
temple compound walls and area. Temple footprint should be free of any obstruction. Fresh paint on temple structure needed.

4. Incorporate spiritual AXES, NUMBERS and DIAGRAMS in new
configuration of design elements brought into the proposed scheme.

5. Use pure forms and forms reminiscent of the main temple roof in new design elements as much as possible.

6. Create a SENSE OF PILGRIMAGE in the area.

7. Use Kali Temple Road as the MAIN AXIS to approach the temple.

8. Build FOUR gates on four perimeter roads of the ward. Main Gate across Kali Temple Road/ S.P.Mukherjee Road.

9. Partially hide Kali Temple Road facades of existing houses by erecting IVY SCREEN WALLS along temple approach.

10. Turn Kali Temple Road going west from Sadananda Road mainly pedestrian.

11. Develop additional program for building hotels, parkings, shopping plaza, security facilities, prasad preparation and distributing area, ablution, cleaning, rest areas, Landscapings, info office etc. and locate them appropriately.

12. Consider, NIGHT AESTHETIC as important design element.

13. Use limited materials for new structures : concreat, brick, red sandstone, marble, fibre glass. Etc.

14. Use limited colours : black, red, white and saffron.

15. Main Courtyard of the Temple should be cleaned up and redesignated.

16. WEST ENTRANCE into the Temple should be cleaned up and redesigned.

17. Use of fountains, seating areas, washroom and ablution facilities should be part of comprehensive landscaping, including planting of more trees along both sides of major streets, lighting system reminiscent of old gaslight design in Kolkata of old days etc.

18. Creation of CAUSEWAY to create a sense of PILGRIMAGE and JOURNEY.

19. Use of a vertical shaft of LASER BEAM emanating from the main Temple area should be seriously considered to visually announce the Temple's location visible from any part of Kolkata against the night sky.

20. A bridge across Adi Ganga near the existing ghat.

21. Use "Atchala" as façade or theme for project area.
